Rising house artist HGods is packing a punch with his dark, gritty sound and just delivered his latest club-ready tune, “HELL ON EARTH.”
The East Coast is bumping with beats, which is partly due to the sounds coming from Hunter Godsey, aka HGods. Hailing from Brooklyn, this self-proclaimed “award losing producer” has caused quite the commotion over the past few years with some self-released tunes that continue to turn heads. Releases like “Spiral,” “Garden of Glass” with Grace Venes-Escaffi, and “The Fool” with Lileth have all showcased his unique take on house music while he’s deepened his grip even further with impressive performances along the way at Nebula, Somewhere Nowhere, and more.
This year, HGods took the next steps forward in his career with the release of “MINE,” featuring stunning vocals from Vie Elle. Now, he’s back with another fresh tune for his growing fanbase to feast their ears on – “HELL ON EARTH.” This track acts as the first of many to follow that are geared toward the world-building style that HGods has set off to champion, with each new soundscape pairing with a character.
For “HELL ON EARTH,” HGods looks to the ’80s when B-movie horror movies were at their prime for inspiration. The result is a sinister bass house track that is dark and gritty at its core yet still retains the lack of seriousness that those flicks brought with them. Found within its runtime is a booming bassline that carries listeners along throughout the ride, with layered vocals for added impact to make this one a perfect stomper for any night out at the club.
