French artist Space 92 heads to Filth On Acid and delivers a dose of weighty techno with the three-track EP, Gravity.
Few of the fresh artists in the techno realm are as acclaimed as Space 92. Not only is this French DJ and producer reigning supreme as one of the best-selling artists in the genre over the past few years with releases on labels ranging from Perfekt Groove Recordings and 1605 to Factory 93 Records and Form, but he’s also won over the hearts of anyone catching him perform. Now, he’s returned to Reinier Zonneveld’s Filth On Acid for the release of his latest EP, Gravity.
The Gravity EP is a hard-hitting collection of tunes that sees Space 92 flex his production might as he pummels listeners with banging techno soundscapes. Leading the charge is the title track, which opens with a modulated vocal before diving straight into the subterranean levels of a dystopian world. As listeners traverse this realm they’re met with booming elements guiding them forward before the emotive melodic section arrives to allow for a moment of disconnection from reality. This tune is Space 92 at his finest.
“Reaktor” arrives next and builds with energy within its first seconds as Space 92 begins his exploration of darker elements that bring an eerie, almost ominous nature to the tune as listeners are jettisoned into parts unknown. Rounding out the release to deliver the finishing blow is “Cooper,” a near-six-minute ride that will blast you off to the cosmos with powerful synths and an insane bassline fueling the thrusters of your starship.
