Newly launched yerba mate beverage YATÉ is looking to shake up the nightlife scene in 2023 with some tasty social energy in tow.
Picture this – You’ve worked hard all day and you’re heading out to catch a show with your friends, but there’s a lingering feeling of exhaustion that’s creeping into your body. There’s no time for a pick-me-up before you get to the club, and once you’re there the only option is yet another cocktail infused with sugar-filled energy drinks like Red Bull or Monster. This has been the status quo for those who have been in the nightlife scene for years now, but YATÉ is helping make the future a brighter one for those who need a dose of caffeine to keep dancing all night long.

YATÉ is the latest yerba mate beverage to find its footing in the world and the first to be specifically created to be the perfect companion for your night out on the town. They launched with the mission “to bring people together with a healthy dose of plant-powered Social Energy™” and have quickly found a home at events hosted by 6AM Group in Los Angeles as well as the green rooms of artists.
For those unfamiliar, yerba mate is a naturally caffeinated leaf from South America that has been used for centuries by indigenous Guaraní people in Paraguay, Bolivia, and Uruguay. While originally used for rituals and ceremonies, it has since found a home in the hearts of tea lovers all over the world who are looking for its added health benefits and a quick boost of energy to keep them going throughout the day.
But what makes YATÉ different from other yerba mate brands and energy drinks? Not only will you find no artificial ingredients in each can, but there’s also no added caffeine or excess of added sugar, either. Besides the main ingredient, yerba mate (which delivers 70mg of caffeine), each can of YATÉ has organic cane sugar (9g total), organic lemon juice inside, and sea salt inside. This makes it a solid choice for anyone who is on the hunt for a healthier option without having to deal with a crash later on.
While YATÉ can be sipped on straight up from the can while on the go, they’ve leaned heavily into the nightlife nature of the sparkling beverage by crafting up some tasty cocktail ideas as well. This includes the Yatedor (YATÉ + Tequila), Social Nature (YATÉ + Gin), and The Americas (YATÉ + Bourbon), but the opportunities are endless when it comes to how you can mix it with your favorite spirit on a night out.
YATÉ was recently announced as the official drink for the upcoming Blind Tiger and End Overdose show that will take place at 1720 Warehouse in Los Angeles on February 11, but there’s plenty more in store as they head into 2023.
To help get your year off on the right foot, we’ve teamed up with YATÉ to give you the chance to win a pair of tickets to Skyline Los Angeles, along with a case of YATÉ for you to taste and some merch. Enter the contest on Gleam, make sure you’re following EDM Identity and YATÉ on Instagram and Twitter, and stay tuned for the winners to be announced on Wednesday, February 22.
