Q-dance hosted The Kick-Off livestream to reveal new information about Defqon. 1 2023 including the theme, anthem creators, and more!
Q-dance recently announced the dates and ticket sales for the 2023 edition of Defqon.1 Weekend Festival, signaling the beginning of the journey back to the motherland of hard dance music. This week, the beloved brand gave Weekend Warriors the next taste of what’s to come in the form of a new livestream, The Kick-Off. During the livestream, Q-dance revealed new information about the theme for Defqon.1 Weekend Festival 2023, the anthem’s creators, premiered the 2022 Aftermovie, and more.
Before diving into more of the 2023 edition, Q-dance presented fans all over the globe with one final look at last year’s edition with the official Defqon.1 2022 Aftermovie. This was packed with the stellar production Q-dance is known for and the best moments from 2022, creating an indescribable hype surrounding the festival.

Next year, fans can expect to embark on the Path of the Warrior, a unique journey promising four days of ultimate greatness. As Audiofreq put it, “The Path of the Warrior is the quest that every Weekend Warrior has to undertake at least once in their lives… and it’s going to be a journey unlike anything else.”
The anthem creators were revealed to be none other than Sub Zero Project. These industry heavyweights are deserving of this spot as they have been on a path of total domination in the scene. They created the Qlimax anthem back in 2018, released their sophomore album, Renaissance of Rave, in 2022, and took over The Spotlight at the 2022 edition of Defqon.1. The two producers also expressed that while the pressure is high, they are more than honored to create the anthem for the biggest hard dance festival in the world, and both are ready to make the best anthem in the history of Defqon.1.
Finally, Q-dance announced a multitude of ticket options along with Travel & Stay packages. If you plan to attend the festival, ensure these three important dates are on your radar. On October 25, DEDIQATED members will have access to an early sale of Defqon.1 tickets. On October 27, Travel & Stay packages become available for all Weekend Warriors. And on October 29, general ticket sales begin at 1PM CEST (4AM PT).
This is a lot of information to digest, but don’t fret! Weekend Warriors can access all of the available options right now on the Q-dance website and create a wish list. When ticket sales begin, add your wish list to your cart, and check out! It’s highly recommended to get your tickets as soon as possible, but if you miss the first window in October, a limited number of tickets will become available after The Release livestream in February.
