Justin Martin Announces 10-Year Anniversary Pack for ‘Ghettos & Gardens’

in New Releases

Justin Martin is celebrating a decade of Ghettos & Gardens with a flurry of remixes and the first to arrive are for his hit track “Don’t Go.”

It seems like just yesterday that Justin Martin was making waves in the scene with the release of his debut album Ghettos & Gardens. Filled with tunes that got dancefloors moving and shaking, this album helped catapult the San Francisco-based artist into the upper echelon of the house music scene. Since then, Justin Martin continued to explore new reaches and recently launched his imprint What To Do, and now, a decade after Ghettos & Gardens dropped, he’s breathing new life into its tracks.

Set for release later this summer in two parts, the 10 Year Anniversary edition of Ghettos & Gardens will land on What To Do and offer something fresh and exciting for those who have loved the album for years and others who might be hearing it for the first time. This time around, Justin Martin will look to artists including Qrion, Mason Maynard, Harry Romero, Melé, and more to put their spin on these now-classic tunes and twist them in their own, unique way.

It’s hard to believe it’s been ten whole years since the release of my debut album ‘Ghettos & Gardens’, and to celebrate the anniversary, we are re-releasing the entire album on my own label What To Do, this time with seventeen brand new remixes from some of my absolute favorite artists in dance music today!

Kicking off the celebration is the lead remix to arrive from the collection, Model Man’s take on “Don’t Go.” This new cut sees Model Man layer in glitchy elements, breakbeats, and surreal synths to take the tune in a new direction with Justin Martin saying, “His sound is the epitome of everything I love: raw yet beautiful at the same time.”

Paired with that remix is the long-awaited official release of Justin Martin’s beloved VIP remix of “Don’t Go.” Those who have caught him play over the years know this one well and it’s sure to get you grooving along with it – so press play and stay tuned for more to come this summer!

Listen to Don’t Go (Remixes) on Spotify or your preferred platform, and follow Justin Martin to stay up to date on the rest of the remixes to come from Ghettos & Gardens.
