‘Enter The SYS/TEM’ with Zodiac’s Spell-Binding EP

As an avatar of mystery, Zodiac is on a mission to bridge the physical world and digital space with his five-track EP, Enter The SYS/TEM.

As the list of masked DJs continue to dominate the electronic music scene, Zodiac stands poised to make his mark as one of the most influential artists on the rise. With his face being a “symbolic representation of all facets of Zodiac” and “a physical manifestation of digital art and high fashion that is central to [his] core being,” the masked enigma now invites the listeners to enter the simulated realm with his latest five-track EP, Enter The SYS/TEM.

Donning a mask as a producer says everything about letting the music speak for itself. Since debuting earlier this year with the single “Lift Off,” Zodiac has crafted a simulated world within SYS/TEM, which almost mirrors the Matrix. He acknowledges that “while the SYS/TEM’S strength lies in its uniformity, its lack of individualistic awareness and tolerance towards program diversity limit its long-term potential.” On that note, it is easy to understand how the rising talent makes magic happen from start to finish in this album within a digital parallel universe captures the meaningful essence of metamorphosis and his creative growth.

Blasting off “Yes Lord” and “Don’t Trust ‘Em” with Dread MC, Zodiac then delivers a bass-dripping ball of inspired goodness on “Mad Men.” Featuring Tony Watts, the track is characterized by gritty bass and strong vocal tonality. The DJ invites listeners straight to the dancefloor with bouncy beats and free flow electronic drum and percussion. Just like the chorus rings, “I just want to have a good time,” this grinding track is guaranteed to give the listeners an unforgettable time shuffling their feet in the club.

It’s also hard to miss the vibrancy of his own carefully crafted style in other gems like “On My Back” with Born 1. The system-busting basslines in this track serve a high-intensity future-forward sound that matches Zodiac’s new-age digital concept. As the EP draws to a close, listeners are once again lifted off to a final bass-driven slap with the previously released tune “Lift Off.” The sizzling house potency continues to exemplify his talent of infusing a range of feel good beats all in one offering.

It was a pleasure working with many artists who have done phenomenal work in the industry and have made a large impact on the international bass house scene. I look forward to involving more artists with the project in the future. ‘Enter the SYS/TEM’ serves as a genesis piece in what I believe to be a big next step towards bringing together the worlds of hip-hop and electronic music in the industry. The vibrant cultures that both of these genres share is inspirational to me as an artist and I look forward to continued innovation in both of these spaces.

Zodiac

With a dedication to create an ideal world “where both awareness of common goals and the differences among programs are acknowledged as individual strengths that serve to benefit the overall well-being of the society at large,” Zodiac’s soaring entrance and stellar rise in the electronic music scene is a gift for humanity. This EP truly brings out his impeccable storytelling and captivating sound, making him one of the most unpredictable artists to date.

With the release of Enter The SYS/TEM, Zodiac is well on his ascent to the top of the electronic music scene. Check out these tunes on Spotify or your preferred streaming platform and let us know your favorite track in the comments!
