Sven Lochenhoer drops his latest release on Dirtybird, the It Knows EP, which features two deep tunes that will get you in a groove.
Canadian house DJ and producer Sven Lochenhoer is no stranger to the Dirtybird flock. He made his first appearance on the renowned imprint back in 2016 with “Get Down To This” on Dirtybird BBQ: Secret Sauce and followed that up with the Do You Love Me? two-tracker the following year. Sven Lochenhoer also graced the stage at Dirtybird Campout East Coast in 2018 and delivered a sweltering toe-tapping set to further showcase his skills behind the decks.
Sven Lochenhoer’s blend of deep house and edgy tech house elements led him to grace other imprints with releases including Nails / Buttah on Trippy Ass Technologies and Black Friday on Dumb Fat in 2018 and 2019. Now, after a two-year hiatus from releasing tunes, he’s returned to his home on Dirtybird with the release of his latest two-track release, It Knows.
The release of the It Knows EP is a welcome surprise for members of the Dirtybird flock who have followed the imprint since its early days as the distinctive, deep sound that helped define the label years ago is placed front and center on its two tunes. Lead track “It Knows” is filled with soft piano rifts, unusual vocal effects, and a spacey beat that will have you wondering what alien-run nightclub you’ve stumbled into. Then, “Rain Check” keeps those vibes rolling strong with similar, chilled-out elements that swirl in the mind yet will keep anyone who listens dancing deep into the night.
