In addition to the music, Summer Camp offers workshops to express yourself while building towards a brighter future.
More festival curators have been exploring and investing in experiences outside of the music. To add to the festival goers’ experience, Summer Camp sets themselves apart by embracing one’s purpose and creativity in many forms. Providing the Summer Camp community with opportunities to make an impact has been a major focus since the beginning. Offering workshops for scampers to tap into their creative side and make a difference is a huge part of what makes Summer Camp so special. Previously known as the Make a Difference program, the rebrand of these workshops is now the SOULSHINE Experience.
Begin your SOULSHINE experience by visiting the SOULSHINE tent. Whether you’re looking to start your morning with yoga, explore your spiritual side at the sonic portal, or immerse yourself in live art, there’s a little something for everyone. Next, dive deep into the activities offered in the SOULOUNGE. Here you can learn glass blowing and how to create your own pendant necklace using recycled glass. Other activities offered include meditative juggling and even a drum circle. Lastly, there’s an introductory course for creating melodic percussion through the handpan. Would rather relax? Experience the benefits of the handpan sound in a guided meditation.
The soul spaces don’t stop there. SOULPATCH is an interactive garden space demonstrating a variety of growing methods and natural building techniques. Learn everything you need to know about permaculture and urban gardening from experts all weekend long. This 3-day permaculture experience gives its attendees a hands-on approach to urban gardening and holistic land design including camping, meals, yoga, a Native ceremony and three days of learning the ins and outs of the permaculture design process. Nonetheless, scampers will develop project ideas to bring to fruition back home.
