Chase & Status have announced their upcoming album, What Came Before, along with the latest single “Mixed Emotions.”

The London drum and bass duo known as Chase & Status have been pioneers in dance music for the last two decades, and they’re not stopping in 2022. The duo have announced their sixth studio album, What Came Before, due out on June 10. In addition to the official album announcement, they’ve dropped three singles from What Came Before to give listeners a preview of what’s in store for the remainder of the project.

The latest glimpse into the album, is the most recent single titled “Mixed Emotions.” This melodic drum and bass track feels true to Chase & Status’s sound, featuring emotional vocals atop a piano-driven beat. Nostalgic synth sounds flit around before the song kicks into full gear. “Mixed Emotions” combines the best of old-school electronic sound with a modernity that makes it perfect for today’s listeners.

The full album will boast thirteen tracks in total, and will feature a number of collaborators including Popcaan, Unknown T, Pip Millitt, and IRAH. An exclusive, intimate launch party will be hosted by Chase & Status to ring in the release of What Came Before at London’s KOKO on May 12. Fans can get exclusive access to tickets for the launch party by pre ordering the album prior to the general ticket sale on April 20.

What Came Before will be out everywhere on June 10, pre order the album here. In the meantime, stream “Mixed Emotions,” and check out the full tracklist below!
