Two drum and bass gods, Alix Perez and DLR, have joined forces and blessed us all with a preview of what is to come from their union.

If you love drum and bass, or even just dabble in it, the names Alix Perez and DLR are two you should know. These two artists have created their own sounds that could be labeled as more on the side of darkness – which is why it’s even more exciting when they come together to unleash the ultimate heaters from the depths of the underground. A taste of this unified brainpower arrived with the release of “Walk Out,” which had listeners craving more, and they recently delivered another helping on “Keep Up.”

Not only does “Keep Up” act as the latest single to arrive from the minds of Alix Perez and DLR, but also is the lead track off their forthcoming 1985 Music X Sofa Sound EP that’s due to drop on January 28. This tune bursts out of your speakers at full blast with its supernatural energy and impeccable sound design in tow, leaving listeners trying to “Keep Up” with these kings the entire way. Joining these two on the track is SP:MC who offers up a sick flow to further catapult it into the drum and bass cosmos and get anyone vibing right along with him.

During 2020 lockdown, before moving to New Zealand I linked up with DLR in studio. It was something we spoke about for a while. We wanted to link up in person rather than work remotely. The session felt super natural, we just bounced off of each other and knocked out a bunch of ideas which we later developed. I think Jay is one of the most refined producers of our time and both our sounds clicked. One of the tunes we made definitely needed something extra. Who better than our close friend and microphone extraordinaire SP:MC to come in and lace some bars.
