Guy Gerber Releases Two-Track 'Bocat' EP

Guy Gerber returns to his Rumors imprint with singer/songwriter Albertina to deliver an enchanting, two-track EP titled Bocat.

Guy Gerber is a talented Israeli artist who has been releasing captivating dance tunes for two decades now, featuring his signature sound that blends techno and house music with percussion and instrumental melodies. Gaining inspiration at a young age from the shoe-gaze technique – a sub-genre of indie and alternative rock that combines obscured vocals, guitar elements, and high volume – he blended this style with dance music to create a signature sound that was wooed listeners ever since.

Back in 2014, Guy Gerber founded his imprint Rumors, which has since become a home for some of the most forward-thinking artists in the underground scene as well as one for his own releases as well such as “Don’t Call” and the What To Do EP. Earlier this year, he returned to his label to deliver a bouncy yet calming single, “Rainchecks in Montreal,” and now he’s graced it once again with the Bocat EP.

The Bocat EP is a two-track continuation of this renowned artist’s journey in the scene and sees him team up with singer/songwriter Albertina. It starts off with the title track “Bocat,” which features a bouncy percussion line, guitar riffs, and synths that remind one of ancient Egypt. Close your eyes and you might even see the Sphynx appear before you to ask a riddle! Albertina’s unique vocals pair perfectly with these elements and add texture to the overall track.

The second tune found on the EP, “Polaris,” follows with a much different vibe, blending a techno beat with deep house and soulful piano melodies. This song quite literally twinkles in your ears while offering a soothing journey through Guy Gerber’s masterful craft of the genre.
