Ohio’s beloved What? Music Festival returns in 2021 with CharlestheFirst, Mersiv, Of The Trees, and more on its initial lineup for August.
This year has brought about a revival of beloved festivals with fresh lineups to welcome the grand comeback after a year of no live events. One of the latest to announce their grand return in style is What? Music and Arts Festival, which is set to take place on August 6-7 at their brand new venue Steelton Yards in Columbus, Ohio. And it’s clear that they have a whole bag of tricks up their sleeves to make this year the biggest yet.
What? Music Festival recently dropped the initial lineup of artists who are set to take the stage. Cranking up the tunes for this special weekend feature headliners CharlestheFirst and Mersiv, along with Of The Trees, Yheti, and Tripp St as well. Further adding to the weekend will be a fantastic b2b between Veil and NotLö, and a Philos Records Takeover featuring Daily Bread, Late Night Radio, Atrifakts, and Derlee. Artifakts will be a can’t-miss set from the producer who merges the worlds of electronic with hip-hop as he’s announced that he’ll be taking a hiatus from his musical project after this year.
Beyond the music, something that stands out about What? Festival is its immense focus on creating a platform for visual artists and emerging creatives in the Columbus area to showcase their work and form connections. The lineup features well over a dozen visual artists including the likes of Apex Collective, Starr Williams, Chris Cropper, The Incogneato, and plenty more. These displays will include auditory experiences, interactive pieces, live muralists, workshops, all blended with the tasteful musical guests to form a truly unique, colorful weekend for all attendees.
Artist, volunteer, and music applications are still open for any creative wishing to showcase their talent among the Ohio community, which can be accessed via their website. If you’re looking for a brand new festival experience filled with artistic inspiration to get you going for summer 2021 this one may be calling your name.
