Following his stellar releases on WAKAAN, SubDocta is back with another appearance on the label with his latest EP, Crystals & Kombucha.

When it comes to that classic wobbly sound that fans of experimental bass know and love, no one delivers better than SubDocta. He’s masterfully cultivated his own genre of bass music dubbed the West Coast Wobble and it’s led to a collection of massive releases. This included the genre’s eponymous EP that landed on Ganja White Night‘s SubCarbon imprint as well as his Psych Ward EP on WAKAAN. Now, after striking up a deal with the label, SubDocta is now back with another appearance on WAKAAN with his latest two-part EP Crystals & Kombucha.

Characterized by deep, subterranean bass and experimental modular work, Crystals & Kombucha builds on the producer’s signature wobbly sound while giving it a deep, mysterious twist. Part one of the EP finds Los Angeles-based rapper Reverie delivering a gnarly verse over a pulsing beat, while part two features some amazing solo production from SubDocta.

On “Crystals & Kombucha [Part 1],” SubDocta concocts a thumping bassline to serve as the foundation for Reverie to serve some sensational bars. The rowdiness of Reverie’s flow complements SubDocta’s in-your-face production flawlessly, making for a killer track that showcases each artist’s artistic genius. Then SubDocta goes solo on “Crystals & Kombucha [Part 2]” with a VIP edit that delivers four fresh, mesmerizing drops that enhance the mystic ambiance and take the track to the next level.

It’s clear that the producer tapped into magical forces while brewing up this batch of delicious dubstep in his cauldron. Dive into the mystical soundscapes of Crystals & Kombucha by streaming the EP on Spotify or your favorite platform, and let us know what you think of it in the comments!
