The debut edition of EDC Portugal will not take place in 2021 due to pandemic-related complications and will now move to June 2022.
After the postponement of EDC Las Vegas last month, Pasquale Rotella headed to the r/electricdaisycarnival subreddit to answer questions via an AMA. During the AMA, he announced the postponement of a number of festivals that were due up in the coming months while providing updates on those arriving later this year. But the status of EDC Portugal remained uncertain with more news coming in May, and today the official word has come through that it will be pushed to 2022.
Citing concerns about travel restrictions on certain countries and pandemic-related complications, Pasquale Rotella and Insomniac couldn’t guarantee that the EDC Portugal experience would live up to their standards. Instead, they’ll be looking to June 17-19, 2022 for the debut edition of the festival that is set to take place at the picturesque beach in Praia Da Rocha.

After announcing their new dates via their post on Instagram, Insomniac also delivered some extra details for those who planned to attend this year. All current ticket holders will be able to receive a refund or push their tickets to the new weekend in 2022 and will receive an email from them by Friday, May 14 with more information to make the decision. Further, they’re currently working on confirming a new lineup for EDC Portugal and are promising that it will “be as good, if not better, than this year’s.”
