In celebration of Deadbeats turning five years old, Zeds Dead have dropped the details for a new side label dubbed Altered States.
It seems like just yesterday that Zeds Dead delivered the news that they would be embarking on a mission to deliver sensational beats on their Deadbeats imprint. Over the past five years, the iconic duo has curated some of the most fantastic tunes in the bass scene to grace the label while also playing host to a bevy of their own releases as well. Now, they’ve set their sights on expanding even greater with the launch of their new side label, Altered States.
Altered States might be a familiar sight for those who have been following Zeds Dead for years as it shares the name of their 2013 tour and this fantastic mix from them as well. While limited details remain about what’s to come on the release front, Zeds Dead said this about the new imprint, “We wanted to open the door to a world branching off of Deadbeats. One where we explore sounds that take you into a different space, one of dreams and other Altered States of consciousness.”
Paired with the news of the label’s launch is its first release as Zeds Dead will (rightfully) be taking the reins on Altered States with the Catching Z’s mixtape. Officially set for release on March 26, this mixtape from the Canadian duo will carry on with their mix series that bears the same name and dives deep into their more chilled-out stylings. But you won’t have to wait until then to get a taste of the sound that will dominate the label as they’ll be dropping its lead single “late night drive” on Friday, March 5, so make sure to keep your ears peeled!
Pre-save Catching Z’s (Mixtape) on your preferred platform ahead of its release on March 26, and stay tuned for more details on Altered States by following them on social media.
