Kicking off the EP is “Nystagmus” with its expansive auditory dreamscape.

Featuring vocal samples from the movie Walking Life, this track introduces the idea of being awake in your dreams, but asleep in real life – a theme that holds prominence throughout the entirety of the EP. With a deep, driving bassline, we are introduced to the vast world that Rapid Eye Movements wants us to explore and are provided the first stop on our four-track journey.

Up next on the playlist is the explosive track, “Showin’ Out.” Its attention-grabbing energy shakes the listener awake and shocks the senses with powerful basslines and intricate melodies. The high speed, energetic nature brings the perfect balance of drive and intention, allowing listeners to appreciate both the grimy bass and angelic vocals completely.

Then, Rapid Eye Movements pulls us even deeper into the dream-like abyss.

The namesake gem of the EP absolutely lives up to the hype. “Rapid Eye Movements” serves as a breath of fresh air, encapsulating the energy of the previous two tracks into one otherworldly piece with echoing flourishes and a solid build. Rounding out the EP is the highly anticipated collaboration with CASHFORGOLD, “Awake.” The dripping vocals play effortlessly off of the melodic elements and low tempo of the track creating a euphoric end to the dream-inducing journey we’ve embarked on.

From start to finish, the Rapid Eye Movements EP showcases Ravenscoon’s eclectic style of bass music as he highlights what it means to be awake in our dreams and asleep in walking life. We can’t wait to see what projects he has on the horizon and what worlds he’ll create for his growing fanbase next.
