JRJ Emerges on This Never Happened with ‘Me & You’

JRJ delivers his debut, four-track EP on This Never Happened, Me & You, as the label continues its strong start in 2021.

John Ross Junior, better known as JRJ, is an artist who has been putting fans in a groove over the past few years whether with his releases or while behind the decks. His previous tunes in the realm of tech house, including “Fire Tonight” and “Freak,” have caught the ear of labels like Sola and behemoth brand Elrow, and he’s played his heart out at nightclubs in Ibiza as well.

Now, this Liverpool-based rising star has set his sights set on carving out space in the melodic house and techno realm, and his most recent release, Me & You, is a fantastic start. Out now on Lane 8’s imprint, This Never Happened, the music from JRJ began to turn heads back in the fall of last year as its title track was an ID that found its way into the magical sunrise set from the label boss on Grand Lake in Colorado.

But the now revealed ID which sees JRJ team up with Maat isn’t the only stunner on the Me & You EP as he’s packed in three more tunes that are truly sensational as well. “Gone” kicks off the EP in style with a beat that’s perfect for those days spent relaxing in the grass looking at the clouds as its vocals wash over your ears. Next up is “Alym” with a bassline that will make anyone feel at ease as it pulls you close and gives you a warm hug. Then, JRJ closes out the release with “Let You,” which transports listeners to a late-night afterparty when the energy is still flowing through your body and the desire for the night to not end dominates the mind.

This might be the first taste of JRJ on This Never Happened, but it’s clear that he’s up to some great things in the studio and we can’t wait to hear more in the future. Listen to Me & You on Spotify or your preferred platform, and let us know what you think about this fresh release in the comments!
