Sunsets and Foreignlocal. hit their stride and look to greener pastures in 2021 with a fresh collaboration dubbed “Again”!

San Diego producer and multi-instrumentalist Sunsets is an incredible artist. From sampling Trulys and Yerba Mattes for Disclosure’s #BeGuy challenges to tracking each instrument on his releases, his musical fluency is a joy for listeners to experience. Starting the new year off in a feel-good way, he looked to a familiar face to collaborate with, Foreignlocal., on their first single of 2021 “Again.”

In true Sunsets fashion, “Again” begins with sampled audio of a dryer spinning before dropping into an undeniably smooth groove. Your body can’t help but start bobbing as that funky bass-line hits Foreignlocal. arrives with dreamy indie-pop vocals to free your mind as well. Every aspect of the track is layered in precisely and adds more to appreciate from Sunsets, whether it’s the soul-capturing bassline, spacey synths, catchy vocals, or slick guitar riffs in the outro. There’s something that any music lover can fall for about the track as they listen to it again and again, so give it a spin!

“Again” is about that playful and exciting new feeling you get when you meet a new person and all you can think about is them. Foreignlocal actually wrote the lyrics when we were in the studio in literally less than an hour which made this collaboration super fun and smooth.
The idea of the instrumental was actually made on my laptop in a laundromat as I was waiting for my clothes to dry by recording a sample of a dryer looping then using it as a percussive element over the beat! You can kind of hear it during the first 2-3 seconds of the song.
