John Digweed unveiled the details surrounding the release of Quattro II as well as a special New Year’s Eve charity fundraiser livestream.
Even though this year hasn’t been quite as anyone expected, British DJ and producer John Digweed pressed on to keep fans grooving to the beat with livestreams and releases that included the four-disc mixed LP Quattro. Split into segments called Soundspace, Tempo, Redux, and Juxtaposition, each disc offered different everything from ambient sounds and futuristic electronica to uplifting house and rave-fueled acid beats.
As the final days of 2020 tick away, the co-founder of Bedrock Records has remained productive with the news that the follow-up compilation, Quattro II is set to release on February 26, 2021. Like its predecessor, the edition of Quattro will be packed with highly-curated gems wrapped up in four-discs from artists including Dino Lenny, Remcord, Acid Rockers, and of course John Digweed himself. It will also feature the same flow of soundscapes, but this time around Juxtaposition is mixed by German stalwart, Robert Babicz.
Available for pre-order on the Bedrock website, fans can grab Quattro II on CD, vinyl, or as part of a merch bundle. Fans of Digweed are encouraged to order soon as these copies of the compilation are limited.
To help carry everyone into 2021 in the best way possible, John Digweed also announced a New Year’s Eve Livestream as well.
Kicking off on December 31 at 21:30 GMT (1:30pm PT) via Mixcloud, Digweed will be playing his heart out to close the year properly for his fans around the world. Additionally, he’ll be raising funds during the stream for an organization that he holds dear to his heart, Macmillan UK, which provides physical, emotional, and financial support for those who have been impacted by cancer.
“Since I was 15 years old, I have spent every New Year’s Eve playing at some of the best club events around the world. This year it’s going to be a totally different experience for me as well as the rest of clubland,” he said when asked about livestreaming. “My ‘Bunker Sessions’ this year have allowed me to hold a house party and share it with my fans around the world, creating a real clubbing community online. Your support has been absolutely incredible and hugely appreciated.”
