Tchami and Gunna deliver a one-of-a-kind animated music video influenced by old-school video games for their collaborative single “Praise.”
Even though this year hasn’t turned out quite like anyone had hoped, Tchami has continued to make some serious strides in his career. After working with Lady Gaga on Chromatica, he went on to grace the dance music scene with his debut album Year Zero that immediately turned the heads of his fans who had been patiently waiting for its release. Featuring a number of fresh tunes and previously released singles, one of the most beloved was his collaboration with Gunna, “Praise.”
While every track on Year Zero is exceptionally produced and dripping with influences from all over the music world, “Praise” is unique within its own. Gunna’s lyrics throughout the track help amplify the electronic-fueled hip-hop tune to make it a perfect fit for any after hours house party. And now continuing his streak with this electrifying track, he reunites with Gunna to bring forth a fantastic music video to make “Praise” even larger than life.
Created and animated by Steve Cutts, the “Praise” music video is just as unique as the track itself. The video kicks off with Tchami and Gunna illustrated as video game characters taking viewers on an adventure through a nostalgia-inducing trip. Utilizing levels from classic arcade and console games as a setting, it’s truly an out-of-world experience as the story progresses forward from the past to the present.
While the track within itself serves listeners with absolute greatness, this new music video will have fans whipping out their old consoles in hopes to relive those memories spent beating difficult levels and battling with friends. Tchami once again answered prayers with this stunning release, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for the future.
