German duo Distinct Minds take listeners on a journey back in time to the ’80s with synthwave electronica stylings on DUALITY I.
Distinct Minds might be one of the freshest faces in the scene, but this duo has already begun to make waves with their unique soundscapes. Earlier this year, the German duo dropped “Wanderer” to mark the beginning of the project with a bang and followed it up with “Mirrors” and “Breakout.” Now, they’ve packaged up those singles to unveil the first part of their debut album, DUALITY I, that’s out now for your listening pleasure.
Clocking in at six tracks in total, the first part of DUALITY I arrives in style with dominating synths and driving bass to truly captivate listeners. Within seconds of pressing play on lead track “Entering,” those who opt to take this journey with Distinct Minds are thrown back in time to mark their arrival at a smoky ’80s nightclub lit up with bright neon lights. From there, the duo offers up the three aforementioned singles that dropped earlier this year as they continue through the night with a blend of progressive and synthwave beats which you simply can’t help but dance away to.
Just when you think the journey is about to end, Distinct Minds drives deeper with “Light Of The Desert,” a track that truly showcases the immersive soundscapes the duo can create. While it still features signature retro sounds, there’s little doubt that this tune will enamor any melodic house & techno lover as well. Then, they bring the first part of their album to a close with “Fading,” featuring powerful vocals from Ido to smooth out the journey and leave listeners craving more. When that will be is anyone’s guess, but we’ll be paying close attention to their socials for future releases from this duo!
