BEC Takes Us to the ‘Turning Point’ with New EP

On the hunt for some raw techno sounds? BEC has you covered with her latest release, the three-track Turning Point EP!

One of the artists in the realm of underground techno beats who has been making some major waves as of late is BEC. First appearing on Pan Pot’s Second State imprint, she began to quickly ascend through the ranks of the scene while landing releases on labels including Carl Cox’s Intec and Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. Now, after unveiling her own label earlier this year with BEC 001, BEC has gifted fans with another fresh EP, Turning Point.

Upon the first listen of Turning Point, techno lovers will begin to understand how and why BEC has been turning heads over the past few years. While her performances at CRSSD Festival, Burning Man, and more have seen her take crowds on a journey to the underground, she’s bottled the essence of her sound up in a perfect manner with this three-track EP.

Each track is filled to the brim with hypnotic, stripped-back techno tones that will leave any listener stunned. The title track, “Turning Point,” kicks off the EP and drives forward in an unrelenting manner with a heavy kick and warped synths to create an almost eerie atmosphere. Now that the stage is set for this darker trip, BEC introduces us all to “The Forgotten One” by creating a dynamic, peak-time tune that is a perfect fit for any battered warehouse that’s off the beaten path and used for an illegal rave.

As the EP comes to a close, BEC then delivers “The Hedonist,” a track that sees her flex on the creativity in the studio with impressive sound design and a mesmerizing beat that will leave minds spun upon its completion. It carries on the eerie nature of the EP, transporting listeners to a soundscape that’s fitting for the spooky season that’s on the horizon.

If this release sets the tone for what’s to come from BEC in the future, you best be prepared because it’s clear she has all the right ingredients to keep her forward momentum in full gear. Listen to Turning Point on Spotify or your preferred platform, and let us know what you think of this fresh EP in the comments!
