Rebūke Releases ‘Obscurity’ EP on Drumcode

Just a year after releasing the sensational tune “Rattle” on Drumcode, Rebūke returns to the label with the three-track Obscurity EP!

If you’re a fan of peak-time techno with driving basslines then one artist who should be on your radar is Rebūke. While he might be one of the freshest names in the scene, he’s quickly dominated speakers around the world with electrifying tunes while also lighting up dancefloors with memorable sets.

Now, after releasing the absolutely hypnotic Rattle EP on Drumcode last year, Rebūke has returned to the label with his latest offering to the techno gods, the Obscurity EP. Clocking in at three tracks that are jam-packed with his brain-scrambling sound, this release is a must-listen for anyone who is looking to lose their minds to the sound of the underground.

“Instatik” kicks off Obscurity with industrial drums that will have your foot tapping along in no time at all before dominating your senses with its synths. Then, “Livewire” takes over your soul and with its percussion that will have listeners blood pumping and jaw on the floor during the impressive melody and uplifting energy of the track. And what better way to close out this EP than with the title track that descends into the darkness with its driving beat and glitchy elements layered in that pack a punch.

“I think 2020 will go down in history as the craziest year of our lifetime. The future is still pretty unknown right now and things are drastically changing week to week. With that in mind, I felt ‘Obscurity’ would be a fitting title for my second Drumcode EP. It represents the state of being unknown, unclear or difficult to understand – feelings I’m sure most of us are going through right now. Most the tracks aside from ‘Livewire’ were written in quarantine; ‘Livewire’ was written right before the virus shut the world down, in a hotel room in Lima, Peru in January. This EP is my favourite to date as I think it shows a different side to my musical palette, whilst still developing the signature sound heard in all my music.”
