Shogun Returns with a Jam-Packed Quarantine Mix

As we continue to dance the summer away in our rave caves, Shogun has mixed his originals and longtime influences to keep the energy up.

A trance luminary carving his own path in the industry, Shogun has many impressive accolades. This 4x DJ Mag Top 100 contender is the first Asian-American to be signed to Armada and has graced the stage at some of the world’s biggest festivals like Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra, and A State Of Trance. If you love dance music that will put you in a good mood, this prolific producer is one who should be on your radar.

Recently, Shogun released a fresh tune called “F*ck Up The Party” that saw him explore the sounds of electro-pop, and he also delivered a remix of the Super Mario Bros. theme song exclusively on Bandcamp. Looking to put a smile on the faces of those who grew up playing the timeless video game, all proceeds from the remix will be donated to the CDC Foundation to help develop research for COVID-19 and support frontline workers.

To help keep the vibes rolling on strong this summer, Shogun spun a mix that features his originals, remixes, and influences from over the years. Kicking off with his newest single “Lalaland,” and including the likes of Afrojack, Fatboy Slim, and Tiësto, this mix is not one to miss. Set to release a steady stream of stadium-ready singles (or, apartment-ready, given COVID-19 circumstances), he has even more in store throughout the rest of the summer so stay tuned!

“I’ve been using the past couple of months to stay busy in the studio, work on music, play video games, relax, cook, and work on building a new studio. I’ve been really busy taking odd jobs around the house and doing my best to stay home because I feel like going out right now isn’t the best thing for the world. I’m getting ready to release two more singles on Sony in a few weeks, which I’m stoked about! The tracks – ‘Into The Night’ and ‘Walls’ – are the most reflective of the signature ‘Shogun sound’ out of the records I’ve put out recently. In this mix, I tried to channel my flagship trance sound and put together something special for my Trancefamily because my OG fans mean everything to me. I hope you enjoy it!”
