After nearly a decade of delivering fantastic beats and memorable sets, house duo Golf Clap announced they’ll be moving in separate directions.
Since first breaking onto the scene, the dynamic duo of Hugh Cleal and Bryan Jones, better known as Golf Clap, have made waves with their memorable sets, showcases, and releases that kept us all dancing to the beat. Well-known for their constant presence at festivals like Electric Forest and Movement Detroit, they also have grown a significant following with their Country Club Disco imprint and a thriving community on Facebook that is an invaluable asset for artists looking to make their break.
Earlier today, though, Hugh Cleal took to Golf Clap’s social media channels to announce that the duo would be parting ways and continuing their journeys as solo artists. “Creativity is what brought us together, and it is that same creativity that will keep us going long after this fork in the road,” he said.
“We cherished the time we had together and are grateful for the learning opportunities that it provided, but now it’s time to walk different paths and grow in our own distinct directions.”

While Jones will be moving on to a new alias that will be announced soon, Golf Clap will now become Cleal’s project and he’ll also be taking the helm of Country Club Disco as well. “Expect tons of new music from both projects in the coming months,” reads the statement. “And look out for new Golf Clap dates soon to come.” Both artists also expressed their love and gratitude for the thriving community of fans who have followed their music over the years and supported them.
