Defected Virtual Festival continues to roll on with a stacked lineup featuring A-Trak, Duke Dumont, Sonny Fodera, Claptone, and more!
Dance music lovers who have typically spent their weekends in packed nightclubs or vast festivals grounds have been feeling the impact of the stay at home orders due to the coronavirus pandemic more than most. One label who has been helping keep the quarantine blues at bay is none other than Defected Records by bringing forth the Defected Virtual Festival series!
Now with multiple editions of the virtual festival in the books, including a few from Glitterbox as well, Defected Records has been curating some amazing lineups for each show. The fifth edition of Defected Virtual Festival is filled to the brim with talent as well with an immediate standout being A-Trak, one of the most renowned DJs in the scene.
“It’s opened up a whole new approach to DJing for me, where everything is a live re-edit. I come from a background of turntablism and DMC battles, but over the years my quest became to make routines that people can dance to and enjoy as songs — especially as my path led me from hip hop to house music. This is the first time I’ll perform a set comprised of all these new ideas that I’ve been exploring. This is a first peek into the future of my sets.” – A-Trak
Additionally, the upcoming show on May 8 will also feature a literal laundry list of the whose-who of house music as it features Danny Howard, Claptone, OFFAIAH, Sonny Fodera, Roberto Surace, and Duke Dumont. Defected is also showing love to some competition winners as well with Selena Faider and Soulmakestik joining the lineup.
Much like the previous editions Defected Records is raising funds to support the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. If you’d like to give back in this great time of need, please head to their website for more information and donation options!
