DEVAULT Releases Another Gem with the ‘SAPPHIRE’ EP

After dropping our jaws with JADE earlier this year, DEVAULT is back with another addition to his collection of crown jewels with the release of SAPPHIRE.

One of the most interesting artists who has been rising to the top of our playlists as of late is none other than DEVAULT. Twisting darker electronic sounds that are rooted in a style that screams 80s new wave, it’s easy to imagine yourself flying through a dimly lit, futuristic city. Now, after revving those engines back in April with the release of JADE, he’s back with another EP dubbed SAPPHIRE that’s an absolute dream.

Clocking in at four tracks in total, SAPPHIRE continues the descent into the dystopian world that DEVAULT has crafted up with his synth-fueled soundscapes. Each tune shows off the experimental nature of his style as he weaves in elements of electronica, bass, and midtempo to really keep listeners coming back for another round after each listen.

Much like his previous release this year, a visual journey for the lead single “Sapphire” has been paired with the release as well. Available to watch on YouTube, it takes viewers along for a retro, sci-fi inspired journey that’s quite the ride as the track progresses. But the title track isn’t the only standout, as “Accept Yourself” and “Saunter” both deliver some action-packed goodness as well.

Take a listen to the full Sapphire EP on Spotify below, download or stream it on your favorite platform, and let us know what you think of these new tunes from DEVAULT in the comments!

“I wanted to create something that pays homage to the music that got me so excited about electronic music in the first place. The new wave sounds of the ’80s, the French Touch, and the rave music of the 90’s all influenced this record.”

Grant Gilmore’s authoritative voice as a media professional lends credibility not common to EDM journalism. As the founder of EDM Identity he has effectively raised the bar on coverage of the past decade’s biggest youth culture phenomenon. After ten years of working for nonprofit organization Pro Player Foundation, Gilmore launched EDM Identity as a media outlet offering accurate informative coverage of the rave scene and electronic music as a whole. Although they cover comprehensive topic matter, they have taken special care in interviewing the likes of Armin van Buuren, Adventure Club, Gorgon City, Lane 8 and Afrojack. In addition to household names, they have also highlighted unsung heroes of the industry through their ID Spotlight segment. Whether he’s covering it or not, you can expect to find Grant Gilmore attending the next big electronic music event. To find out what’s next on his itinerary, follow him via the social links below.
