Black V Neck Make Dirtybird Debut with ‘Mouth Music’ EP

Black V Neck take us for an unexpected spin with Mouth Music, their debut EP on Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird Records.

Miami tech-house outfit Black V Neck have been putting the pedal to the metal with their unique approach to the oversaturated electronic music scene, and their cheeky approach has been paying dividends – most recently, with their debut on Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird label, the Mouth Music EP.

The two-track release starts off with the eponymous “Mouth Music,” which takes its name from an explosive rhythmic vocal line that combines with an infectious drumbeat to amp the volume up to 11. On the flip side, “Sex, Drugs, Alcohol” takes a darker turn, getting its hooks into the listener with a deep, resonant bassline and a robotic vocal hook that draws you into your deepest desires.

Both tracks are bangers in their own right, but it’s the unexpected vocals and the incessant pounding of the drums on “Mouth Music” that really steal the show. There’s no doubt that this track will be featured in sets from many of house music’s biggest players throughout the rest of festival season. So grab a good pair of headphones and immerse yourself in the inventive tech house of Mouth Music.

Take a listen to the EP below, download or stream a copy on your preferred platform, and read on past the jump for some words from Black V Neck about the EP!

“Releasing music on Dirtybird is something we’ve been working towards, so we’re proud to finally share the Mouth Music EP with everyone. Creating the two tracks was a fun experience for us because we got to show different sides to our music and personalities. We hope you have fun dancing to it as much as we had fun making it.”

Erin has been listening to electronic music on and off since the early 2000s, which is when trance music captured her heart and soul. Over the years, she has expanded into a number of other styles and genres, especially techno and house. Originally from Chicago, she spent the better part of the last decade seeking out any electronic music she could find, and traveled the length of the country in search of some incredible moments at festivals like EDC, TomorrowWorld, and the Dirtybird Campout. Having since settled in Denver, she focuses her energies primarily on the house and techno scene around town and traveling to mountain and west coast festivals whenever possible.
