GRiZ is celebrating the kick-off of his Ride Waves Tour by raffling off a one-of-a-kind Hurley surfboard, along with a dozen custom made posters.
GRiZ has been catching some serious swells and hanging ten after the release of his latest album Ride Waves and the announcement of the coinciding tour that will see him traverse the East Coast and Midwest, bringing some good vibes along the way. Now, the artist who has been known for his philanthropic efforts in the past has announced that he’ll be giving his biggest fans the opportunity to give back as well with a charity raffle and contest!
In celebration of the Ride Waves Tour rolling out, GRiZ teamed up with international surf legend Bob Hurley along with mixed media artist Berk Visual to design a custom-built surfboard. The board shaping and design process filmed at Hurley International’s Headquarters and offers a behind-the-scenes look at how it was created.
Created alongside the surfboard are twelve limited edition posters that were produced in Hurley’s renowned studio and feature custom designs for each stop on the tour. All proceeds of the Ride Waves Charity Raffle will go to benefit the Seven Mile Music Program in Detroit, an organization that benefits kids music and art programs across the city.
Fans can enter to win one of the posters at any of the stops on the tour, and the surfboard raffle can be found online by visiting their website! Watch the video of how they created the surfboard below and read on for details on the grand prize along with some thoughts from GRiZ.

“It’s intimidating to work with somebody who’s so knowledgeable about something. You’re with a legend in their game that you’ve never really been in before – so you’re going from knowing nothing to being with the person who probably knows the most about it. It was so enlightening so quickly, and I really loved seeing the way that [Bob] enjoyed it. That made me feel so inspired and so filled with joy – to be with somebody that has been doing this for such a long time and still loves doing it to the very core of his being.”
