Petit Biscuit pairs new single “Wide Awake” with CGI music video that transport you to another world!
Petit Biscuit took the world by storm with his 2017 debut album Presence. In the wake of its release, the French producer toured the globe amassing fans at every venue he performed. Now, the multi-instrumentalist brings a new concept piece to life with his new single “Wide Awake” and its accompanying CGI music video. The track showcases Petit Biscuit’s ability to blend and fuse glitchy electronic beats with smooth vocals, tranquil keynotes, and bass-heavy synths.
The contrast of sounds on “Wide Awake” is personified by the CGI music video where a young man wakes up to a world to be explored. There is perfect harmony between the music and the actions displayed as the man interacts with different parts of the CGI world. The video seamlessly transforms into live action by the end where the young man reaches a shoreline and “comes to” from the manufactured world. In a time where nearly all our interactions are completed via a phone or screen, “Wide Awake” and its accompanying video explores the themes of and being present, aware, and waking up to the world.
“I wanted ‘Wide Awake’ to be a track that defies genres…it encompasses an audacious blend of my world music and chill universe, that ends up completely broken up by bass music. Like a relentless battle between nature and digital.”
