Rock out with The Prodigy as they take on the American Midwest for their ‘No Tourists’ tour!

Big-beat pioneers The Prodigy are heading to North America in support of their latest album No Tourists! Hitting four initial dates with the promise of more to come, the famous group will come stateside for the first time in nearly two years. While I didn’t love their latest album when I reviewed it earlier this year, I imagine seeing them live could actually be a lot of fun. Their music has a ton of energy, and since they’ve been performing for over twenty years, their live act is no doubt something special.

With two full-time MCs and a live drummer, it’s guaranteed to be more than just a dude DJing. And unshackled from the confines of your earbuds or speakers, their aggressive, expansive sound might be a little less exhausting when you can channel their energy across a massive crowd.

Whether it’s a crowd you want to party with, however, is a different question. The announced leg of the tour is focused entirely on hard rock festivals like Welcome to Rockville and Chicago Open Air. As the press release puts it, “The Prodigy will bring their unique sound to festivals stacked to the brim with modern rock luminaries including Foo Fighters, System Of A Down, Ghost, and Tool, among others.”

If you’re down to rave with Tool stans and System of a Down fans, go for it. I have no idea what the crowd for a Prodigy show will be like at a hard rock festival. Will they embrace it? Will they headbang to it? Or will they just shrug and move on to Korn and Evanescence? I guess you’ll have to go for yourself and find out.

Check out the tour dates below, and grab your tickets to one of the festivals if you’re in the area!
