If you’re looking to hit the slopes and then get down to some beats in South Lake Tahoe to celebrate the end of 2018 then SnowGlobe is the festival for you! Hosted at the Lake Tahoe Community College Campus, this three-day event brings some of the top names in electronic music to the stage to close out the year right.
The 8th edition of SnowGlobe is set to be hosted over the course of December 29-31 and we’re hoping that the weather will permit it to be another stunning winter wonderland. While the lineup is yet to be revealed, past editions have featured artists like Porter Robinson, Jai Wolf, Dillon Francis, and more, so we’re sure that it is going to be stacked. With a strong commitment to the environment and the community that hosts them, this year’s edition of SnowGlobe will also bring with it some expanded partnerships that you should know about.
First is their continued commitment to The Sugar Pine Foundation, which plants new Sugar Pine trees to help replenish its population in Lake Tahoe. This year will see SnowGlobe double last year’s donation and now sponsoring 400 Sugar Pine seedlings while also giving attendees the opportunity to donate as well.
The second notable expansion is through their sustainability initiatives with Waste-Free Earth, which will be hosting an on-site booth intent on educating those in attendance. On top of that, there have also been a few specific initiatives announced that include Imperfect Produce which donates food to local organizations, Waste Diversion to keep as much waste out of local landfills as possible, using compostable materials in all food vendor products, a call to action against plastic waste, and more.
