What was your first electronic music event?
EDC Los Angeles 2009. #RIP
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
My friends. We have always been so into the music we used to have little raves in our friend’s garage and they’d all take turns DJing. One got the EDC Los Angeles flyer and convinced us all to go. Wasn’t too hard.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
The whole thing. The first event is always special. But for it to be a two-day massive that no longer exists in the city is one. Being able to see Kaskade, Deadmau5, Aly & Fila, ATB, Fedde Le Grand and The Martinez Brothers was memorable. The art! Vibes everything. I haven’t missed an EDC since!
What is your favorite festival or event?
This one is tough. I go to everything. I would have to say my favorite event was Insomniac’s Factory 93 Drumcode show. Adam Beyer is my favorite DJ I’m a huge techno snob. I have a Drumcode flag that I get signed by all the Drumcode artists I see.
I got to meet him that night along with Bart Skills, Dense and Pika, Layton Giordani, and their manager Pedro. They all signed my flag, took a picture I got to hang with them for a bit and I got to wake up to Adam Beyer reposting my picture along with a very special caption. Best day ever!
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
I would have to say my favorite track right now would have to be ‘Call it techno’ by Frankie Bones. It describes the sound of techno and where it originated and how it makes you dance.
Who are your favorite artists?
I love music so that is such a hard question to answer. My top 5 would have to be Adam Beyer, Eric Prydz, Tale of Us, Carl Cox and Cristoph.
What are your favorite genres?
Dark techno, progressive house and gangsta rap.
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
Everyone refers to me as the queen of techno. [Laughs] Kind of silly but I do love techno. I go to everything in Los Angeles, San Diego, or Las Vegas.
Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself for the readers?
I’m a promoter in Hollywood so if you’d like to attend anything I can always help out!
