Ganja White Night Releases “Samurai” with Zeds Dead

Get ready for a track unlike any you’ve ever heard — “Samurai” will leave you speechless!

When it was announced that Ganja White Night and Zeds Dead would be joining forces on “Samurai”, it felt like the world stopped. What would Ganja White Night’s funky reggae wobbles and the utter beauty that is Zeds Dead sound like together? Upon listening to the track once it was released, I had to double check to make sure I was listening to the right thing. Read on to see why “Samurai” is by far the most exquisite, wonderfully crafted bass track I’ve heard in a very long time.

The introduction of a track is vital, especially in bass music. Good drops are great, but a good buildup is even better. As an avid listener of bass music, I yearn to find the tracks where I don’t have to nor want to skip a minute into the track just to hear the bass drop. I found my salvation with the alluring introduction in “Samurai”.

Ganja White Night has said they are influenced greatly by world-renowned composer Hans Zimmer, and this track’s introduction solidifies that claim. With a delicate tip-toe of piano notes, this track begins in the most subtle way possible. A gentle hum resonates against the piano before entrancing vocals weave throughout the sonic textures. The intro feels like a journey into the unknown and will have you questioning how such a peaceful sound concoction could possibly turn to some dirty bass wubs. Don’t worry — it will.

The worldly spell of silky vocals, piano, and the stippling of bass vibrations soon descends into a low rumble. A hefty percussion knock builds before snapping into an arsenal of bass slaps that’ll have you moving every part of your body in loyal unison.

Ganja White Night has been working tirelessly on The Origins since 2016, and their hard work is evident in this collaborated track. In its entirety, “Samurai” is nothing short of a masterpiece and is just the track I’ve been looking for. With this being only a taste of the twelve new tracks Ganja White Night will have on The Origins, I’m excited to see what else the duo brings to the table.

Be sure to check out The Origins when it drops on February 5!
