Countless fans have felt the emotion in Illenium’s tracks, and now he’s brought one of them to life in an incredible music video.
We’ve been waiting quite some time for a music video from Illenium, and the day is finally here! He’s pulled out all the stops in a visually stunning adaptation to his beloved track “Crawl Outta Love” from his sophomore album Awake. The video follows two former lovers on separate journeys to find their way back to themselves, searching for something to help them through this tumultuous time.
As the video begins, the melancholy feel of the track is accompanied by dark gloomy skies, representing the stormy feelings inside each of the characters. From lush forests to rocky ocean cliffs, the man and woman climb their way through many corners of the earth. The two begin to see the light and gain confidence, the sun peeking out through the clouds and a fiery phoenix (Illenium’s symbol) leading the way. It ends on a euphoric note, as they reach the top of mountains and find their way back to themselves.
Just like what Illenium’s music is famous for, the “Crawl Outta Love” music video conveys raw emotion that allows fans to truly connect with his art. It also contains extraordinary birds-eye nature shots that you may remember if you attended any stops on Illenium’s Awake Tour.
I love how this video provides a visually immersive experience that leads you along the path of the characters, yet allows you to draw your own conclusions and connect with your own experiences. Illenium and his team did an incredible job on this one – I can’t wait to see what other music videos he has in store.
