What was your first electronic music event?
I believe my first electronic even was Hallowfreaknween back in 2010.
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
I was living in Grand Junction at the time and one of my good friends went to Denver for Skylab. She came back and couldn’t stop talking about it. She taught me about kandi and PLUR. So we decided to make the trek for Hallowfreaknween. After that, it’s history – been addicted to electronic music ever since.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
I will never forget the family set from Dirtybird Campout the first year. Well, every year, actually. There’s just something so true and pure about Dirtybird. The life and vibes at their events are quite insane.
What is your favorite festival or event?
The Dirtybird Campout is most definitely my favorite festival. I’ve been to everything from Coachella to Electric Forest to Vertex and I will hands down take the Campout over any of them. This festival brings so much to the table. From the games to the music and everything in between, there’s nothing like it.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
Oh man, that’s a really, really tough question. Let’s see… “Hello Clouds” by Justin Martin is one of my all-time favorite songs. There’s just something about it that takes me to another world. I was watching Justin at Coachella a couple of years ago and he played it. I literally felt that everything in my world was perfect.
Who are your favorite artists?
This is an even tougher question haha. Justin Martin, Gramatik, Duke Dumont, Christian Martin, Fisher, Worthy, MK, Soul Clap, Walker & Royce, Justin Jay, Maximono, option4, Will Clarke, Billy Kenny, Barclay Crenshaw, Mikey Lion and so, so, so many more!!!
What are your favorite genres?
House is most definitely my favorite. Any kind of house. I can get into drum and bass and dubstep too but I’m super picky about it. I’m really into a lot of jam bands also but that’s another subject!
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
Hmm I’m not too sure of my identity in the electronic music world. But I just got accepted to be a part of the DBC East Coast promo team so I’m really looking forward to getting more involved!!
