At long last, fans of the iconic duo are treated to a greater taste of what’s to come on their long-awaited album, The Only Road.

Gabriel & Dresden continue their journey of releasing their first album in 11 years with two new atmospheric tracks. The Only Road will be released on December 15, 2017, on Anjunabeats, and fans can pre-order the physical CD or pre-save it on Spotify beginning today. Fans who pre-order will receive the first three singles automatically.

Fans of the duo have waited with bated breath for news of the album’s release, with 700 backers contributing on Kickstarter to support them in this endeavor. If the first three tracks are any indication of what we can expect from the full album, we’re in for an incredible treat upon its full release.

Longtime collaborator Jan Burton returns for “Waiting for Winter”, no doubt to the delight of Gabriel & Dresden fans around the world. The production begins with soft, ambient chords overlaid with a delicate mosaic of arpeggiated synths, giving the entire track the feel of walking through gently falling snow.

Sub Teal returns for another track, lending her smooth and elegant voice to the second single, the expressive “White Walls”. Anjuna family will no doubt recognize this marvelous tune from Above & Beyond’s Deep Set at ABGT250. The round, sunny chord progression lend a heartwarming tone to a song that is about, appropriately, coming home.

The duo posted a sincere note of thanks on Facebook for fans alongside the release:

This is the same Gabriel & Dresden sound that we’ve known and come to love over the years. Their style has stood the test of time and remains crisp and fresh as ever, devoid of trend-chasing and, as ever, paving the road ahead.

Erin has been listening to electronic music on and off since the early 2000s, which is when trance music captured her heart and soul. Over the years, she has expanded into a number of other styles and genres, especially techno and house. Originally from Chicago, she spent the better part of the last decade seeking out any electronic music she could find, and traveled the length of the country in search of some incredible moments at festivals like EDC, TomorrowWorld, and the Dirtybird Campout. Having since settled in Denver, she focuses her energies primarily on the house and techno scene around town and traveling to mountain and west coast festivals whenever possible.
