Electric Island 2017 || Civic Holiday Lineup Released

Electric Island announces its Civic Holiday Lineup featuring Nina Kraviz, Jackmaster, KiNK, and more!

The makers that brought you The Portlands to ring in Canada’s 150th birthday are pleased to announce the third summer edition of Electric Island, which will take place on Civic Holiday, August 7 in Toronto with another fire lineup. The main stage welcomes the incredibly talented and energetic Jackmaster, as well as Irish-born Mano Le Tough. The Maeve Label owner is a true sound wizard with an impeccable ear for melody, deep emotive basslines and live instrumental breaks.

Bulgarian live-act KiNK also joins the roster. Another name that needs no introduction, KiNK weaves listeners between house, techno, and broken beat to deliver a memorable performance for all. There can’t be a techno event without the beautiful Russian artist Nina Kraviz. Nina’s success is unparalleled – from her successful label Trip (трип) to her mesmerizing performances behind the decks, she is a force to be reckoned with. And let’s not forget the astounding Jonathan Rosa. Toronto’s illustrious duo Nature of Music will each be on warm-up duty.

The second stage will see Swiss DJ-Producer Deetron. Making his Electric Island debut, Deetron has a style of mixing skills that hearken back to his early days as a Hip-Hop DJ. Mainly influenced by the sound of Detroit, today he’s best known for producing warm techno. Joining the stage is Dâm-Funk, an American DJ-Producer who affirms that funk is a way of life, “a feeling of struggle and staying cool through it all.” Also claiming the stage are Toronto’s household names Greg Gow, Addy, and Jeremy Stott. It’s going to be another epic weekend in the city of Toronto this Civic Holiday.

The 2017 season will feature international and local talent in an outdoor park side setting, overlooking Toronto’s waterfront and skyline. Officially closing each of Toronto’s four summer long weekends, this open air showcase is accessible via the Toronto Island Ferry.
