What was your first electronic music event?
The first one I remember was way back in senior year of high school. I went to a monthly EPR night back when it was hosted at Blake’s (now currently know as Pappy’s) in Berkeley.
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
My group of friends had started getting into EDM at the time and wanted to finally check out an event. It’s a bit ironic because we all loved trance back then and the show was all house music, but I feel like If I attended that same show today I would have absolutely loved the stuff they played.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
Watching Claude VonStroke receive the Golden DJM 900 at Dirtybird Campout 2016 was great, not only because it was awesome to see a musician I really love get the award, but It was a great way to celebrate the achievement by presenting it right before he went on to play.
What is your favorite festival or event?
CRSSD Festival in San Diego. I’ve been twice so far and every time I’m blown away by both the lineup and performances, as well as the people you get to meet at that event.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
I’m gonna divide this question into two categories.
Favorite Dance Track: “Light Years Away” by Oliver, because every time I hear it I start can’t stop myself from at least headbanging.
Favorite Non-Dance Track: “Swing Star Pt. 1&2” by Todd Terje, because it’s absolutely one of the most emotionally charged instrumental songs I have ever heard, and it never fails to make my eyes tear up a bit.
Who are your favorite artists?
Green Velvet, Anna, Ende, London Elektricity, Oliver, 1200 Micrograms, Shpongle, Claude VonStroke, Com Truise, Mitch Murder, Greg Beato, Infected Mushroom, and so many more.
What are your favorite genres?
Tech House, Techno, Psy Trance, Synthwave, Progressive House, IDM, Dubstep, Drum’n’Bass, Industrial
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
I’m trying hard to be an artist in the community. I’ve made music for a few years now, and I’ve managed to get a couple of official releases out. I’m gonna keep putting stuff out in the future, and if that doesn’t turn into a career, at least I hope some people listen and enjoy.
