5. Muni Bass – jarradcleofé
jarradcleofé – SoundCloud | Twitter | Instagram
I just discovered this San Francisco producer the other day and have since been mesmerized by his grooves and synth design. This particular song, “Muni Bass”, was released on ARAGAMI and reflects Jarrad’s fast-moving and energetic journeys on the San Fran transit system. Tracks like this are a necessity for brightening moods after a dark winter in the Northwest. Bright panning synths are layered between a smooth melody and repeated vocal samples that bring a sense of humility to the song. Pair that with a steady bass line and you’re left with pure gold.
4. Don’t Stop – NtrlTaste
NtrlTaste – Facebook | SoundCloud | Bandcamp
All I can say is wow. Another new artist for myself, NtrlTaste hails from Russia and is making some of the funkiest new tunes I’ve heard in a while. I haven’t been this impressed with original synth design and drum sequences since I first was introduced to Kaytranada (and that is saying something). Jam out to “Don’t Stop” and check out the rest of NtrlTaste’s discography. You will not be disappointed.
3. Dreaming – Chromonicci
Chromonicci – Facebook | SoundCloud | Twitter
2017 is the year for Chromonicci. After being featured on a Soulection featured mix, his music has been shared worldwide and he is starting to gain some serious respect. “Dreaming” is a moody future track that just gives off the vibe that everything is going to be OK. Seems like that theme has come up often in my life and it is songs like this that get me through it. His synths sound extremely acoustic and flow together seamlessly on top of a smooth bass line and minimal percussion. Keep an eye out for more Chromonicci releases!
2. Touch – GOLDWATER
GOLDWATER – Facebook | SoundCloud | Twitter | Bandcamp
I don’t know who GOLDWATER is or where he came from, but this teaser from his upcoming EP is the most innovative and impressive piece of work I have seen in a long time. It is hard to fit this tune into a specific genre, and I think that is why it stands out so much. “Touch” starts out with a slow piano melody, then quickly switches gears to include a pulsing, organic-sounding bass synth. This is layered below new and creative synths that bounce around the track and bring it to life. His debut, self-titled album, GOLDWATER EP, will be available everywhere April 14 so keep an eye out for that.
1. Whatever You Choose – Ganz
Ganz – Facebook | SoundCloud | Twitter
GANZZZZ. You know it’s going to be a good day when you see that Ganz has released a new track. This latest tune is no different. Featuring passionate vocals from English singer / songwriter, Caitlin Stubbs, “Whatever You Choose” is Ganz’s first release in 2017. Bright, emotional ambiance and an addictive bass synth are packaged together to create this euphoric anthem.
