Meet Imad Salhi in this week’s #IDSpotlight!
Name: Imad Salhi
Rave Name: None
Current City: Bristol
Occupation: Project Manager
Facebook: IMS Music
What was your first electronic music event?
Bloc Festival in the UK!
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
My techno head friends 🙂 – I was curious to see what electronic music looks like outside of the usual clubs such as Fabric and Ministry of Sound.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
When Four Tet came on at Bloc, it was magical – he had us all entranced for the 2 hours he was playing!
What is your favorite festival or event?
Love saves the Day in Bristol – Perfect blend of house and techno, summery vibes, and friendly people 🙂
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
“I Remember” – Deadmau5 & Kaskade. It’s perfect, the vocals with the smooth side chained chords, it always sends chills down my spine. If I am able to write a track so flawlessly, I will have achieved my goals as an electronic artist. 🙂
Who are your favorite artists?
The Chainsmokers, Dapaeink, HUGEL, Kygo (all the tracks up until “I See Fire”), Sam Feldt
What are your favorite genres?
House – mainly deep, also commercial and tropical house.
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
I wish I knew, I like commercial sounds and I like to tell a story with my tracks, rather than having repeating vocals. Do people like classical songwriting (think The Beatles) merged with a House influenced beat? I think Tropical House comes close to it.
Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself for the readers?
Thank you for reading! You can find my music on SoundCloud!
