Learn about London-based trio, preZidents, in this week’s Artist Spotlight!
Known as a mecca for electronic music, London has produced not just world-renowned clubs but a slough of amazing artists too. It is no surprise that the city has produced yet another group that is set and ready to dominate the scene, preZidents! This trio of artists consists of DJ Blaise O’Brien and producers Toby Scott and Tom Higgins and is pretty fresh on the scene. Having only been pushing out tracks for a little over a year, it has been great to see support from artists and tastemakers ranging from The Magician and Oliver Heldens, to Head Dirtybird Claude VonStroke and more!
Recently releasing track “Keep It On Time” with vocalist Jolan, the track is upbeat and danceable with some powerful lyrics to boot. I personally cannot wait to see what preZidents brings to the table in the future, but until then check out the exclusive mix below!

What was your inspiration in becoming a DJ?
Back in the early nineties listening to EZ & Karl Tough Enough Brown live at the Power House in Stratford. I have listened to dance music from a young age but listening to them live and seeing the reaction they got made me want to become a DJ.
Having a specific “sound” is important in the EDM world. What would you describe your sound as?
Bumpy feel good house music
If you could play a b2b set with any artist, who would it be and why?
It would have to be Roger Sanchez, he is a legend in the game and is still going strong. Why? because you know it would be a proper party with his style and vibe.
Do you have a favourite event that you’ve been able to play?
The Kisstory tours are always special but my favourite has to be the Get Twisted events. They have been at Ministry Of Sound and Egg Club and have sold out every time. You are guaranteed to have a proper party every time at one of these as a DJ or as a party goer.
What about the Electronic Music Scene specifically speaks to you?
What the music means to people. You see that while DJing, people dancing, having a good time, people singing tracks back to you.
If you could pick 3 artists to listen to for the rest of your life, who would they be and why?
I’d go for Daft Punk, Disclosure, and Massive Attack. All 3 artists have huge variety and depth, they bend the rules and experiment, and have pushed their variety of music to a new level. Daft Punk for their uplifting bangers that stick with you for life, Disclosure for the element of darkness, big songs and unique production and rhythms, and Massive Attack for their more downtempo, hugely atmospheric and varied vast library of absolute genius songs and grooves.
Which artist was your introduction to Electronic Music?
Inner City, Technotronic, Frankie Knuckles, there were loads. My parents were always listening to music, Motown, Rock, Pop so I was lucky at an early age to be introduced to dance music.
What is your favourite event that you have attended?
ADE Amsterdam was quality this year and last year. Also long-time massive fans of Sonar in Barcelona.
What’s in store for your fans for the rest of 2016? Any surprises or new releases coming up?
We’ve got a few upcoming tracks in the pipeline which we’re very excited to share – currently focussed on our collab with Jolan which we’re very excited about.
What is your favourite ice cream?
Ben & Jerry’s – Half Baked or Phish Food
