After the recent announcement of two of the six founders of Okeechobee Music Festival leaving, Soundslinger, LLC (producers of OMF) have released an official statement about their strategic plans for their new leadership team. Music and event production industry veterans Kevin Collinsworth, John Conk and Steve Lemon are set to lead the Soundslinger team for Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival in 2017.
Kevin Collinsworth joined the growing Soundslinger Executive team back in August 2016 and is a native Floridian. He has been in the live event, entertainment, and marketing industries for close to 15 years. Not only has he been involved in the domestic side, but also the international side as well. He has worked in operation of venues, production of festivals, live spectacle, large-scale live events, sponsorship, touring and televised events.
John Conk will be serving as the Head of Operations for Soundslinger and has well over 40 years experience in international event production. John has worked with festivals such as Bonnaroo & Electric Forest. He has even toured with legends from The Rolling Stones to Lady Gaga. Conk is also a founding contributor of the Event Safety Alliance, which is an organization dedicated to promoting the gold standard of event safety from production to execution. All the more reason this man is qualified for the position.
Steve Lemon will being joining Soundslinger as its Production Manager. Lemon has worked in the industry since 1975 and is an event production and project manager specializing in large-scale event planning, management and execution. Steve has a plethora of international experience to the point where over 30 million people have attended one of his events.
Returning as Head of Booking and Programming, Benn Baruch will continue lead the charge for Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival 2017 on talent. Baruch has been successfully and skillfully creating amazing lineups across the United States for the past decade. I’m definitely excited to see what he has in store for OMF 2017!
Following the successful first year of Okeechobee Music & Art Festival this year, Soundslinger has prepared for OMF’s return to the Sunshine Grove on March 2-5, 2017. OMF 2017’s lineup and ticket information will be released in early November. Soundslinger also has plans in the works to launch other events and complementary projects, which include the strategic development of Sunshine Grove to enhance the music and arts events it produces. Although it is unfortunate that Paul & Steve left, Soundslinger is hiring some great people to fill that void. Each of these three gentlemen sound more than qualified to fill the positions. I’m excited to see what they all bring to the table.
