Groove Cruise is the OG of the “Festival On A Ship” genre. This year they’re setting sail on a 5 day journey with 120 hours of non-stop music to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In honor of the incredible adventure attendees will be embarking on, we want you to have the opportunity to get to know the talent who will be our “Taste Makers” for Groove Cruise Cabo (GCC). Each week, we will feature articles on two DJs playing GCC as well as a set from one of their latest events or some recent releases so you can get to know them better. Next in our series is… SNBRN!

SNBRN
In his personal life he is known as Kevin Chapman. But the dance music world knows him by no other name than SNBRN! Crafting his productions using the perfect blend of deep house, indie dance, and nu disco, he has become the master of his own very special version of house music that he has playfully dubbed “Sunset House”. Only releasing official productions for 2 years, he first entered the dance music world at the age of 12. He fell in love with the stylings of Fatboy Slim and Moby. One fateful day would arrive in which Kevin decided that listening to dance music was just not enough. He wanted to start producing. Thus began his drive to learn the ins and outs of the industry and in 2013 after finishing several degrees in audio engineering and production, he was ready.
Choosing a great name for himself was first on his to-do list and SNBRN just seemed right and fitting. In 2014, he would begin to release several remixes and cover songs under the name SNBRN and attention started to drift over in his direction. With several of his productions topping the charts on HypeMachine and garnering millions of plays on SoundCloud and YouTube, SNBRN knew that he was on his way to achieving his dreams. But when he received the support from BBC Radio 1’s own Pete Tong, he knew that music production was his true calling.

Up next on the agenda would be an original release. Working hard in the studio SNBRN came up with a track that would ultimately be named his first official release on Ultra Records called “Raindrops” featuring the vocal stylings of Kerli. Then, in 2015 we would see an incredible SNBRN take on an unreleased Nate Dogg acapella track, gifting the world with “Gangsta Walk”. This track alone collected over 8 million plays on Spotify and recently has gone Gold in Norway! SNBRN has certainly not slowed down this year. With his production fires lit and wanting to create something that others would deem risky SNBRN pulled a page from the Swedish House Mafia discography. Using the incredible vocals from their famous track, ” Leave The World Behind” he delivered a rework that in its new form is equally as impressive and drenched with a whole lot of SNBRN sunset house flavor! Rewind back even further this year and we saw SNBRN drop “Sometimes”, an original that racked up over one million plays in addition to a two-track remix package featuring Bee’s Knees and Win & Woo. A very impressive accomplishment indeed.

With his discography growing the only thing left to do is hit the road to share his talents with fans all over the world. SNBRN has just begun his Golden Equinox Autumn Tour that will take him everywhere from the United States to Canada and even Mexico. Come October 28, as part of the tour SNBRN will board Groove Cruise Cabo with plans to destroy the dance floor with music that is literally the perfect match for a sun soaked party in the tropics. If you are lucky enough he may even help to bid the daylight goodbye with one of his stunning sunset sets. Talking from personal experience, you would not want to miss that experience.
