With so many amazing and talented artists at this year’s EDC, I found it extremely difficult to narrow my list down to just 10, but here you have it! These are my top picks for artists you should check out at EDC Las Vegas this year.
Brandy’s Top 10 Artists at EDC Las Vegas 2016
Above & Beyond
Ironically nicknamed, “The Biggest Band You’ve Never Heard Of”, Above & Beyond will always hold a special place in my heart as well as the hearts of the millions of fans that tune into their podcast, ‘Group Therapy’ each week. Their live sets spread nothing but positivity, and EDC is the perfect place for just that.
Knife Party
Two members of the drum and bass band, Pendulum, started Knife Party as a side project. Their side project became highly successful and Knife Party was a hit. They bring tons of energy to their sets. I’m definitely excited to see them this year, since they were not at EDC last year.
Hot Since 82
For all you techno lovers, you’ll love Hot Since 82 at the Neon Garden. He started out in afterparties in his hometown playing 12 hour sets, moving to an Ibiza residency. He will keep you dancing all night, or at least until 4am, when his set ends.
Doctor P
I have seen Doctor P several times, but it wasn’t until his set in Heineken House at Coachella this year, that I realized what an incredibly talented artist he is. If you’re a true Basshead, you have to be there to witness what this man can do. It’s truly incredible.
What So Not
What So Not, formerly a duo with Flume until their split last year, but now a solo project with Australian producer “Emoh Instead”. He’s not just another artist riding the wave, he’s innovative and his sets are a unique experience that you definitely won’t want to miss.
Axwell /\ Ingrosso
Swedish House Mafia fans, rejoice! No, a reunion isn’t happening, unfortunately, but this is the next best thing. Formed from two members of SHM in 2014, shortly after the trio called it quits in 2013, they have released several massive hits, playing festivals all over. This electro house duo is sure to put on an epic set.
Adventure Club
You’re probably familiar with Adventure Club if you’ve watched any of the EDC aftermovies. The Canadian duo’s song, “Gold” was used in the EDC 2014 aftermovie, and a remix of “Crash 2.0” for EDC 2015. Their signature sound includes bass-heavy drops, and high energy vocals. They originally formed a hardcore pop-punk band in high school, but quickly got bored and started making EDM and we’re glad they did. They still incorporate some of their earlier post-hardcore influences into their sets.
Sacha Robotti
You may or may not have heard his new song on Night Owl Radio, but this Dirtybird will be at the upside-downHOUSE. He brings a unique, futuristic and funky sound, and his sets are anything but cliche. Check out our interview with him HERE!
Pierce Fulton
Pierce Fulton is only 22 years old, but he’s been tearing up the scene. His heavy musical influences from playing instruments when he was younger, evolving to playing huge festivals. His music is fascinating because he combines all of these musical elements into his performances.
Kaskade
Kaskade has become a household name, for non-ravers and ravers alike. This Chicago-born, Grammy-nominated devout Mormon has released several highly successful albums and sold out shows around the world, and for good reason. Although he is playing at circuitGROUNDS, if you’re not into large crowds (and there will surely be a huge crowd for him), he will also be playing a smaller, more chill set on one of the art cars. This man brings so much powerful energy, and you can tell that he absolutely loves what he does. I have seen him live multiple times and he is just one of those artists I would never miss for anything.
If this is your first EDC or your 20th, you will have an incredible time. I encourage you to check out new artists, because you may fall in love with some of them. EDC is all about diversity, and the lineup this year brings that and so much more to the table.
