Join Us, Come “Follow” Bro Safari!

Gina Senegor by Gina Senegor
May 26, 2016
in New Releases, Music

Bass magus Bro Safari implores his listeners to accompany him through his newest release “Follow“. The tune opens like a lament whose voices are crying out into a vast, melodic void, instructing those closest to come along. Echoing vocals plummet down a rhythmic drum and bass chasm before bursting into a characteristically heavy drop. While being both groovy and somber, it’s as if the song represents a forward movement, wistfully leaving behind the past for more upbeat prospects. This progression is not dissimilar to that of Bro Safari’s flourishing career.

Remaining true to his voice and highly dedicated to the time-devouring undertaking that is music production, Nicholas “Knick” Weiller of Bro Safari has seen mounting successes in recent years. With his musical influences deeply rooted in punk at its peak, he found his electronic calling in drum and bass music, being similar in intricacy and heaviness. It was through the development of drum and bass that his technique rapidly evolved, eventually to his first joint musical endeavor with drum and bass trio Evol Intent.

His eclecticism and nostalgic appreciate for his musical roots never faded. Shortly after developing Bro Safari, he started another project with vocalist Matthew Kelly called Minus Music. He still regards this as one of his favorite musical endeavors. It features a completely different style than one would expect after hearing Bro Safari, but truly attests to his versatility and innate musical sensibilities. He’s since collaborated with prominent artists like Kill the Noise, Valentino Khan, UFO!, DJ Craze and many more. He’s serenaded enormous crowds at world-renowned massives like EDC and Electric Forest and he’ll be playing at this year’s Paradiso Festival in June.

Indeed, it would benefit any aspiring producer to follow Bro Safari. His dedication to the music, rather than one particular sound, is a testament to how far one can go by persistently cultivating their musical abilities.

Gina Senegor

Gina relocated from monotonous central California to the damp, musically dense Pacific Northwest in 2009. Not long after, she became completely enveloped in the vibrant world of electronic dance music. Obsessed with the catharsis of dance and unparalleled sense of community, her life’s pursuit became attending as many live music events as possible. While she doesn’t limit her eclectic musical taste by any means, bass music is what most activates her tumultuous soul. Soon, within her grew the desire to become more involved and contribute to the community which has shown her interminable acceptance and purpose. In that pursuit, she began working with the artist relations teams at local powerhouse Foundation Nightclub and its parent company USC Events in Seattle. She’s now found a space where meaning and motivation converge and intends to embed herself as much as possible within those musical spaces.
