It seems like yesterday that this track hit the airwaves, but let’s throw it back six years to Swedish House Mafia‘s release of “Miami 2 Ibiza“. 2010 was the year in which Swedish House Mafia truly began their progress towards total domination. The track, which was the last single off their debut album “Until One”, was officially released on October 4th, 2010 and immediately hit the airwaves around the world. Hot off the release of “One”, it reached #1 on both the US and UK Dance Charts. “Miami 2 Ibiza” became one of the signature Swedish House Mafia track representing their early years and features vocals from Tinie Tempah.

Like most tracks from the period of 2009-2011 for me, this one has some seriously amazing memories that flood my sense every time I hear it. I personally believe that this track helped pave the way for not just the rising popularity of Swedish House Mafia, but also began the breaking down of the barrier between the rave and mainstream culture. The next release, “Save The World” was a track that infected radio stations around the world, but this set the stage for SHM.
