HI-LO has just released a new track titled “Ooh La La” out now on Heldeep Records. For those who are unfamiliar with HI-LO, it is Oliver Heldens’ side project that is meant to focus more on the ‘underground’ and bassline driven side of his music. Listen to the new track below.
About HI-LO
HI-LO is the more ‘underground’ and more bassline driven side of Oliver Heldens with which he is pushing the boundaries between different bassline driven styles like UK-, Bass- & Tech-House, Techno and Electro. As a kid being a fan of the more Harder Dance styles he fell in love with House music mostly because of the 2006-2009 Dutch ‘Sneakerz’ / ‘Clubhouse’ sound and the English Fidget stuff and since then he has been exploring and producing a lot of different kinds of electronic music. From the year 2012 he became more and more inspired by Deep House and UK/Garage-House, it opened a new world for him while at the same time it threw him back to the older stuff which got him in to House music. This lead him to making tracks like ‘Gecko’ and ‘Koala’ in 2013 which skyrocketed his career as Oliver Heldens. While making a lot of new music since then, most of the more underground and more bassline driven stuff didn’t get to see the light; it was more appealing to release the more melodic stuff. And so the idea to create an alias separated from Oliver Heldens was a big relief for him and gave him a lot more musical freedom. With his unique sound HI-LO got a lot of buzz and the first few releases have been getting huge support by many heavyweights from different scenes. The future looks bright for him and besides all the amazing new music coming up, HI-LO will be playing shows from 2016 and you don’t want to miss that, so stay tuned… [Source: HI-LO Soundcloud Bio]
