Dreamstate 2015 || Simon Patterson

He was born in Belfast, Ireland in 1981 and would grow up to become the most beloved and talked about psy/tech trance wizard in all of history. His productions send his listeners on a trippy journey through euphoric and uplifting melodies tailored with dark and blood pumping bass lines. With a dash of creepy, sometimes alienistic sound bytes, mixed with beautiful builds and epic peaks, he brings the dance floor into a world outside of their own understanding. He is none other that the Psy king of kings, Simon Patterson. Next week, Dreamstate will come alive with energy when this man hits the decks.

If you are a fan of anything EDM, then I am almost certain you have heard Simon’s song “Apex”, making waves on all of the most popular dance music radio stations and podcasts. Rewind a few years back to 2012 and a little tune called “Brush Strokes” was making the same waves and placing Simon up on the list of top DJ/producers on the planet. But what about the beginning? Simon Patterson first made a name for himself in the early 2000’s as one half of trance production duo Dogzilla along with production partner Richie Kayvan. This dynamic duo, with their first track ‘Without You”, gained the support of trance legend Paul Van Dyk and soon they would be on a fast track into the limelight with a series of live performances and opportunities to remix. But, Simon Patterson could not settle into the life of being one half of a DJ duo and decided that his life calling was better suited for solo stardom. And in 2006 his debut solo single, “F-16” was released and a signing with Sander Van Doorn’s Spinnin’ Records was locked down. “Bulldozer” would be his first release under the Spinnin Records label and with this unveiling the tech trance/psytrance master was unleashed.

Today, Simon Patterson leaves his mark not only through his beautifully crafted tracks and remixes, or through club events and festivals that take him from London to Australia, Mexico to Singapore, and Los Angeles to Mumbai but through his extremely popular radio show, “Open Up”. This podcast is nothing less than trance perfection as he chooses tracks that range from uplifting with a focus on feel good vibes to tracks that are more mysterious, dark, and downright intense. Simon Patterson is without question a staple in our trance scene now, and for many years to come. Feast your ears on his set from ASOT 700 and prepare to be sent on a journey when he hits the stage next week at Dreamstate SoCal!

Simon Patterson 2016 Update:

EDM Identity would love to send out a huge congratulations to Simon Patterson and his new wife Sarah Patterson! Tying the knot in Las Vegas and then spending their honeymoon on the gorgeous island of Thailand has sparked new life into Simon. He recently addressed his fans in an open letter stating “……And now I’m heading back on the road for a summer tour of gargantuan proportions feeling recharged, re-energize, excited and passionate. I’m now literally gagging to get back into my studio – inspired and ready to translate the pages of ideas I’ve scrawled down in my notebook into audio soundscapes. I’m ready and primed”. With his end of summer tour schedule taking shape and certainly some new releases on the horizon, Simon Patterson is back better than ever! At Dreamstate 2016, Simon Patterson will once again launch us into a galaxy far from our own and the anticipation is beyond intense!
