Amidst backlash from fans who were anticipating bass-heavy sets on the VISCERAL Live tour, Getter has canceled the remaining dates in a statement made today.
When Getter announced that his new album VISCERAL would be different from his previous work many wondered which direction he would be taking with the album. Upon its release, it seemed as if the consensus was split as some listeners found an appreciation for the growth of him as an artist while others struggled to cope with the lack of bass-heavy bangers spread throughout.
After announcing that he would be taking the show on the road, it seemed that Getter had made it clear that the VISCERAL Live shows wouldn’t be filled with heavy drops and wubs but would instead highlight his newer work. Though he continued to make statements on social media ahead of his shows to let them know, the reaction from many in the bass community continued to be negative as many booed him, threw items at him on stage, and more.
Now, they’ve finally pushed Getter past his breaking point as today he took to social media to express his frustration and unhappiness with how the reaction has been to the tour, tweeting out moments ago “you win” with the statement below that the remaining dates on the tour have been canceled:

Many of Getter’s fans had reached out to him publicly or privately to show their support, but it seems like the decision has been made to end the tour.
The unhappiness with the entire situation was too unbearable for him to continue playing future shows as he stated: “the constant hate and disgusting attitudes I’m faced with are destroying me”.
Those who have supported him and his album were hit hard with this news, as he still had many upcoming dates on the tour that they were looking forward to catching him at. Details surrounding refunds and more for the remaining tour dates are yet to be released.

Here is some criticism, NOT HATE but TUFF LUV and the solution to his problems. Providing he is capable of taking an honest look at himself.
All he had to do was to ease his new style slowly into existence. Not dump it on everyone and totally disregarding why people liked him to begin with. I say people and not fans, because not everyone who likes someone’s music is a fan nor do I care for the typical dismissing everything reply “you are not a real fan”. That’s true, I am not. I loved the music I used to hear, went to the set and left crying after my birthday was ruined. I was open to become to fan though…
Anyway, had he put out a balanced mix of old and new, everyone would have been happy and his new style would have had a fair shot.
But as if that’s not enough he insults us all by saying he doesn’t care if we boo and don’t like it as long as he does. And then calling dubstep cookie cutter bullshit. That attitude sure doesn’t help.
Now he is being dramatic and playing victim instead of working on a solution, which I already mentioned, the balanced mix.
He needs to own it, say something nice to his fans etc, fire his manager who allowed this to happen and start over.
He has all the attention on him right now (yes, even negative attention can be good attention if utilized correctly) to turn this into something positive. Go for it! Sulking doesn’t get him anywhere. This is simply the consequence of your decisions and a learning opportunity. Remember, this is the entertainment business, not an unconditional love relationship.
Fuck you Birgit. He poured his heart and soul into the album and gets nothing but hate and disgusting comments. Give the man a break.
